One Of My Favorite Clients

I have a variety of clients.  They all see me with different "hats".  Some use me just as a painter. Some as a seamstress. Some as a full service decorator.  Some only see me at Christmas when I decorate their homes. 

 This client who owns this bedding is one of my favorites.  We have a special bond that started the day we met.  I have always loved her home...from afar.  While renovations were being done on her home, my friend and I screwed up our courage and drove up the drive.  My intention was to talk to the workers and ask them if I could just go in and take a peek at the house I have loved for years.  Much to my humiliation the workers said the house still had furnishings in it and I couldn't go in without the owners permission.  "But there is the owner now.  Mrs. T., Mrs. T, this lady wants to see your house!"  I was hoping at that moment the earth would swallow me whole. I can't walk away now without speaking. I walk up to the owner, explain to her my love of her home, and that I am an interior decorator, and I didn't realize the house wasn't empty, and I'm so sorry to have bothered her, and that I am so embarrassed, and that I admire the renovations and how they have maintained the integrity of the original farm house, and sorry to have bothered her...........We ended up talking for maybe 15 minutes.  Then, Mrs. T. says, "I don't let strangers in my home..........(The silence was deafening) But, we aren't strangers anymore.  Come on in." 

There the friendship began.  Mrs. T. already has a seamstress and an interior designer whose toes I would NEVER step on but I have been allowed to be involved in furniture placement and picture hanging and I have the extreme pleasure of decorating the house for Christmas.  I now love the people who live IN the house I love.

Now that was a long story for these few photos.  This is bedding that Mrs. T. wanted to give a little "zing" to.  I added this green border along the bottom to keep the bed skirt from getting lost. 

When it comes to decorating, we don't always have to start with new!



Progress Continues

This is the same house from the post "I'm getting high".  We are making progress in the form of window treatments.  Check them out and let me know what you think!

This is the diningroom window treatments.  You can't see how pretty the banding is but it looks awesome with the rug.

 I cheated on the sheers.  I used store bought sheers and sewed the banding on.  Voila!

 I finished the bedding for this room a few months ago.  The window treatments are the finishing touch to the room.  I was pleased with how they turned out.

I am ashamed (not) to say these window treatments were copied straight out of PB Teen.

Remodeling A Law Office

Aren't these window treatments wonderful?  I had so much fun making them. 



A Brand New Bathroom

This bathroom was completely "rebuilt"  We designed it with travertine tile.  I made the shower curtain.  We LOVED the accent tile and basically built the room around it.  The tile rug was the centerpiece of the room.

I'm Getting High!

Ok.so. I've started getting high! I added these photos for fun. This room almost kicked my butt. One wall ALONE was 18 feet high and 42 feet long. Cindy and I put a LOT of work into making it look good and we succeeded. Again, this is still a work in progress. I will post completed photos on down the road.
