More fun stuff

The topiary is made out of antique ear rings. The bedroom window treatments have a low tie and puddle to create a feel a high ceiling. The wreath is made out of antique bracelets and broach pins. The headboard is a curtain rod with two tufted pillows. The matching bedskirt is trimmed in the curtain tie back and is used as accent throughout the room. The antique hats are displayed around the room as well as hung on the walls.

This is a tweener room. She collects pigs so I created a shelf above the window to display them. I painted the room based on the paisley fabric. I made a micro suede duvet cover and turned her bed frame sideways to give it a sofa feel. The bedskirt is pleated with the suede. The sheer had run in it to I ran a strip of ribbon o hide it. The ceiling is painted green. You can't tell from the pictures but there is accent of green in the fabric. The picture board over her bed is an antique frame. I wrapped a foam board with the fabric and criss-crossed the ribbon. On either side I put a dry erase board and a cork board.

This bathroom was a REAL challenge. The floor is the horrible green from the 1960's. We were torn between keeping it or ripping it out. The budget dictated we "embrace" the tile. Therefore, we built the room AROUND the tile and it looks GREAT. I picked a rich gold for the walls, replaced the cabinet with cherry and installed an Ubatuba granite counter. I found an antique mirror in cherry and used it. I'm not wild about the fruit print in the bathroom but it does match the colors and it's one of my clients favorites. So there it is! I kept everything else white in the room. Towels, shower curtain, sink, etc. Now we have turned something my client wanted to hide into a focal point!

This room had dark paneling. My client didn't have the resource to sheetrock so we painted it. It's not something I encourage but it can be done and done well.
Notice the primitive paintings. While not symetrical, they make a dramatic statement.

Don't you LOVE these mirrors!!! This is a very large cathedral wall that I could NOT figure out what to do with! I went "shopping" in my clients house and found all of these great mirrors.

I love this room also. I painted the walls a warm brown. The window treatments are sage silk. My client had MANY old quilts. I made several pillows, a runner, and recovered one cushion using the old quilts. Notice the tie backs of the window treatments are made out of quilt also. The inspiration piece was the water color over the sofa.

The art work by the window was her daughters!

This is a simple reverse roman shade.

This is a great sunroom. The inspiration piece is the painting done by my clients children. I painted the walls the color of "Campbell's Tomato Soup (mixed with milk!)"
I replaced the cushions in the wicker with soft yellow.
Notice the beautiful wall sconces I found. We put yellow candles in them.
I didn't want to obstruct the view in any way so I hung a silk plaid in the corners of the room to visually soften the room.

These are fold over contrasting window treatments for a diningroom.

This is a breakfast nook/sitting room. I painted the walls a soft salmon color and turned the rug on an angel to give the room some additional personality. I used the same fringe from the dining room above in the breakfast room. I also pulled the fabrics together by using them as accents in the nook (throw pillow and foot stool), and kitchen.

FUN STUFF

I did a small tile backsplash behind the cook top.

I wanted to add drama to this entry hall. I had the floor sanded then stained a rug design on the floor.

This is a cornice board which is tufted with upholestry tacks.

Sampling of throw pillows with a foot stool.

This is a frame from Target. I used the extra cloth from the window treatments and attached glass cabinet pulls. My client keeps this in her bathroom and hangs her jewelry on it. This is truely functional art.
